Kodak is proud to announce the 2009 Student Commercial Awards competition in association with the BTAA.
The Kodak Student Commercial Awards is a competition for Student filmmakers to make a 30-45 second commercial off one roll of 400ft negative film stock.
This year we have changed the format of the awards. These changes are:
- Introducing a script stage. Students will be asked to enter a script and a storyboard in response to the agency briefs. Scripts are then shortlisted by an agency creative team. The final shortlist is then shared with the client and the film stock is distributed to the selected Students.
- Increasing the length off the finished commercial from 30 seconds to anything up to 45 seconds.
- Opening the competition to Advertising MA courses. Students from the MA courses will be able to enter scripts for submission to the agencies. Shortlisted scripts from these students will then be passed to film schools for production.
There will be five briefs to choose from provided by Ogilvy & BBH. each commercial is then judged on: Cinematography, Post Production, Creativity & Overall look, along with Best in Brief.
Kodak will supply each team with 1x roll of 400ft Super 16mm Neg Stock.
