Kodak Kodak Invades Emerson College
Students and faculty at Emerson College in Boston were treated to a KODAK OnCampus Day in April that included presentations, demos and literature. Approximately 100 students attended.
The day's agenda began with a presentation on how to get the most out of capturing, transferring and posting film images. Information on maintaining image excellence and integrity was broken down to address the many workflows available today.
Next, demonstrations of the new KODAK VISION3 7219 stock were shown, followed by a question-and-answer session with Kodak representatives. Introduced in November 2007, KODAK VISION3 film offers increased exposure latitude and color detail with noticeably reduced grain, especially in the brightest highlights and darkest shadows.
To wrap things up, Kodak distributed the new "Essential Guide for Filmmakers." This book contains technical information about light meters, cameras, light, film selection, postproduction, and workflows.
"We got very positive feedback from the students," said Kodak's Dewitt Davis, technical assistant, Americas region, Entertainment Imaging Division. "They found the book to be extremely informational, and enjoyed learning about the latest offerings from Kodak to help them tell their stories with quality moving images. We're planning to set up a tour of the manufacturing facility in Rochester for them as well."
"It was wonderful to have Kodak experts on hand to provide such information and field specific questions that we all had," said Nico Raineau, president of Frames Per Second, a student group at Emerson.
"The feedback from the students has been very positive," said Professor Pierre Desir of Emerson. "They found the presentation very informative and look forward to Kodak visiting again."
