Kodak OnCampus and Stop By Shoot Film in Poland
Kodak hosted a series of events for students in Poland in November 2007. Students from Lodz as well as from the neighboring Katowice Film School gathered for the Kodak OnCampus event held at the Lodz Film School. Aspiring filmmakers gained insight on different aspects of filmmaking ranging from preproduction to post.
Presentations were given on evolving and changing workflow choices available today, as well as insight on how to achieve excellence in quality image capture and choose film stocks. One of the highlights of the day's activities was the presentation of workflow material from Katyn, the first feature film in Europe to be scanned at 4K.
The Kodak OnCampus event was followed by a Stop By Shoot Film session for film schools in Warsaw. Kodak cinematographer Randy Tack led the session. The participants shot Kodak 16 mm film stock using an ARRI 416 Plus. After the material was processed, the students witnessed a demonstration of color-correction capabilities at The Chimney Pot, a postproduction facility. This was the first hands-on opportunity many students had to work with film.
