Kodak Hosts Stop By Shoot Film in Sweden

In January 2008, during the Göteborg International Film Festival in Sweden, Kodak organized a three-day Super 16 mm Stop By Shoot Film workshop. During the sessions, participants learned about film basics and shot their own scenes, with the supervision of Kodak cinematographer Randy Tack and cinematographer Pelle Mellkvist from Kameraten AB. Super 16 cameras available to participants include an ARRIFLEX 416, sponsored by ARRI in Germany, and an ARRIFLEX SR3 sponsored by Kameraten AB in Stockholm.

Almost 50 young filmmakers participated in the event. They were mainly film students and producers and demonstrated true enthusiasm for this workshop.

The film processing was done and sponsored by Nordisk Film Post Production in Stockholm. And in a few weeks, each participant will receive a DVD with all the footage that was shot.

With much appreciation from Kodak and the participants, Dan Sandqvist at the Göteborg University, School of Film Directing, offered access to the school's film studio with some lightning equipment and props. This gave an extra dimension to the workshop, and participants had the opportunity to learn how to light a scene. Additionally, several scenes were also shot outdoors. It was an experience of education and hands-on fun.
