KODAK Display Manager System
measures the color gamut and tonescale of your display device to simulate your print film look. You can simulate the look of the motion picture film that will be projected in the theater on your digital display, as well as match multiple displays to one another. And whether you need to calibrate and characterize a single monitor or an entire network of display screens the Display Manager System works in minutes. So you can configure your display every single day, or whenever you need to move it. |
CONFIGURATION: A SIMPLE THREE-STEP PROCESS.
With the KODAK Display Manager System, configuring your display is easy. The system automatically works to calibrate, characterize and then verify your display monitors. Providing consistent viewing across a variety of specified CRT, LCD, HD and SD Monitors, and Digital Projectors, giving you the power to pre-visualize the way the image will look when its recorded out to film.
CALIBRATION: Eliminate the need for manual adjustments. The Kodak Display Manager System uses an automated process conducted by a calibration sensor that reads color patches from your monitor via a cable that connects the computer to the monitor. The system will calibrate to adjust everything from the monitor contrast and brightness to individual RGB bases and gains. Monitor calibration can even be customized for specific lab processes used by a post house.
CHARACTERIZATION: This process determines the gamma response of the calibrated monitor and tracks the monitor primaries.
VERIFICATION: After the calibration and characterization processes, you can run a verification to ensure that your monitor has been calibrated for a specific transform.
SIMULATION: THE BEST IMAGE AND COLOR MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY.
Once the display device is calibrated and characterized, an accurate simulation or transform of the film look can be made. KODAK Display Manager System gives you the most accurate calibration results because Kodak uses the most advanced imaging technology. Since Kodak makes film, we have the advantage of knowing how it works and can model every piece of the film process. Therefore, the Kodak Display Manager System utilizes the most advanced color mapping technology to give you the most accurate color three dimensional look-up-tables (3D LUTs). Traditional LUTs, which individually map red, green and blue color channels, cannot achieve the accuracy of 3D LUTs because 3D LUTs can map combined red, green and blue values. Therefore, with 3D LUTs all values between red, green and blue can be mapped to give you the most precise color matching. Also, unlike some systems, which rely on color and image information in preexisting layers adding layer upon layer to transform the image from one color to another Kodak employs an unbuilding process. So every time you configure a monitor, the Kodak Display Manager System begins at the beginning by "unbuilding" the layers of color before "rebuilding" to your new specifications.
SUPPORT: WORLDWIDE AND AROUND-THE-CLOCK.
Only Kodak offers a comprehensive network of global support. So whether you're on set or in the Sahara we'll be there. We've been a part of the motion picture industry from day one. We understand film and the process of filmmaking, so whether you have a quick calibration question, need technical support or training, or want to have a long discussion about the film look you're trying to match we'll be there.
