International IMAGECARE Program Conference
48 KODAK IMAGECARE Program laboratory members

48 representatives from member laboratories accredited under the KODAK IMAGECARE Program convened in Hollywood for a four-day conference on hot topics in the industry. Delegates traveled from 25 different countries throughout Asia, Europe, and Latin America. The conference opened with an address from Kim Snyder, President of Kodak Entertainment Imaging.

“The IMAGECARE Program conference was a great learning and sharing opportunity for everyone involved”, Snyder said. “Kodak is committed to continued investment in film technology and the Program member labs play a critical role in maintaining film’s uniqueness and image quality that other formats can only aspire to match. Together we will continue to help our customers bring their stories to life in the way they intended.”

Throughout the four days, conference attendees participated in a broad array of demonstrations, tours, programs and seminars ranging from a Kodak update on the future of film and digital to a discussion of health, safety and environmental issues. Other topics included a look at the ‘digital dilemma’ involved in storage and archiving and trends in post-production workflow combining film and digital technologies.

Juan Carlos Arriagada Monshanks of Cinecolor Chile said: “It was a very good and well-organized conference and I enjoyed it a lot. The chance to share experiences, to know we face the same type of problems, is a big input of knowledge.”

“Our goal was to mix education with entertainment, to respond to members needs, to share Kodak knowledge and to reaffirm our commitment to film and to quality,” said Diane Carroll-Yacoby, Manager of KODAK’S IMAGECARE Program. ”But at the same time, when you have this many people from this many countries, it’s also a great opportunity for them to learn from one another. And that’s perhaps most valuable of all.”
