Kodak Cinelabs Spain team

Kodak Cinelabs Spain (KCS) has just achieved accreditation in Camera Negative processing as part of the KODAK IMAGECARE Program. The laboratory managed a remarkable 100% perfect score.

“KCS in Alicante is really pleased and proud to be accredited to the KODAK IMAGECARE Program,” comments, KCS’s Lab Manager, Vanessa Ruiz-Larrea. “Accreditation was very much a team effort and, together with my colleague, technical manager Jesus Haro and the developer team, we convinced the staff of the importance and value of the Program.”

“All productions need to know they have a guarantee when they work with us,” she continued. “We are a young laboratory and the KODAK IMAGECARE Program contributes to this guarantee as it is an internationally recognised quality standard.”

“Photochemical Supervisor Angel Matesanz agrees. He said, “The KODAK IMAGECARE Program is a guarantee to cinematographic productions because all producers, directors and DPs know that the results of negatives processed in a laboratory accredited to this Program will not only be consistent but also of an impeccable standard.”

KODAK IMAGECARE Program auditor Odile Maugard of the Chalon-based Kodak Customer Technical Services centre added, “Kodak Cinelabs Spain obtained an absolutely perfect score because they had covered all the requirements in the Program flawlessly. All areas in the lab were spotless, the staff were well organised and strongly committed and all operations ran very smoothly. The operators have received a lot of training and handled daily routines in a very professional way.”

DP Kiko de la Rica feels that working with an IMAGECARE Program-accredited laboratory allows him to take more chances and to be more bold creatively. He said,”Creative involvement by technicians is really desirable. A creative suggestion seems to me a very important thing, as it refers to nuances. I wouldn’t like to be in a lab where they just execute my wishes. I appreciate hearing others’ suggestions based upon the basis directed. For instance, I remember working on a film with several flashback sequences on which a colorist contributed some interesting ideas which actually embellished the sequences.”
