What Is Clermont?

The Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival has become one of the world’s premier cinema events dedicated to short films since its origination in 1979. It is the second largest film festival in France after Cannes, attracting around 140,000 attendees.

Kodak’s support of the 34th International Short Film Festival & Market, which takes place here from January 27 - February 4, includes several activities designed to foster emerging filmmakers seeking careers in the entertainment industry. Kodak will once again host a screening of the winners of its annual Film School Competition. Other Kodak-sponsored events include a booth where filmmakers can talk one-on-one with Kodak reps, and various networking gatherings. These activities provide the student filmmakers with an opportunity to showcase their films, display their talents, and meet people who can help them realize their dreams.

Student Showcase

• Thursday, February 2nd, 4:00 - 6:00 pm, Kodak Showcase
  Please join us for the screening of the Kodak Film School Competition winning films at the Kodak Showcase. It will take place at the Salle Georges COCHON theatre – rue Léo Lagrange 63000 Clermont-Ferrand, located near the Kyriad Hotel.
  • Joshua Spires from the University of North Texas, United States, with his film The Whale.
  • Johannes Praus from the University of Film & Television "Konrad Wolf" Potsdam, Germany, for Submerged.
  • Masanori Yokota from Osaka University of Arts, Japan; screening Bullet of Rage.  
  • Brendan Barnes from AFDA in South Africa, with his film Those of the Water.
  • Balazs Revesz from the Hungarian National Film School, Hungary, for his work on Finale.
