Oscar-winnerĀ® Dion Beebe Discusses Green Lantern and the Collaborative Process on Friday, June 3 at 4:30 p.m. at Cine Gear Expo

LOS ANGELES, May 31, 2011 - In Brightest Day; In Blackest Night: Green Lantern! OscarĀ®-winner Dion Beebe, ASC, ACS shares the spotlight with his crew in this hour-long look at the collaborative process and the making of Green Lantern on Friday, June 3 at 4:30 p.m. at Cine Gear Expo. The panel, hosted by Kodak, will be in the Sherry Lansing Theatre on the Paramount lot Panels are free with admission to Cine Gear Expo. Beebe (Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha, Rendition, In the Cut) juggled the duties of shooting a big-budget, effects-heavy studio superhero film with the opportunities for artful lighting inherent in the story. Beebe and his team had a lengthy preproduction period to work out their approach. Grip Don Reynolds and Gaffer John Buckley will join Beebe in this portrait of the creative process.

The discussion with Beebe and his collaborators is the latest addition to a strong line-up of seminars presented by Kodak the 2011 Cine Gear Expo. Topics range from the creative and philosophical decisions behind acclaimed television programs such as Boardwalk Empire, Castle, CSI, and Treme, to an in-depth conversation with master cinematographer John Bailey, ASC, and a discussion with some of today's top creative minds on the artistic and budgetary considerations made when choosing one of the many film formats available.
