From Our Feet On the Street

Kodak is reporting on all the festivities straight from Park City. Follow along exclusively on our FACEBOOK page!

Kodak Celebrates Independents

The curtain is about to rise on Park City, Utah, and the world will be introduced to a new class of innovative filmmakers. Each January, we look forward to seeing whose talent will be discovered, and what amazing stories will be unearthed at the Sundance and Slamdance film festivals.

Just to name a few of the films that arrived in a theatre near you via these premier fests, the list includes Reservoir Dogs, Memento, American Splendor, Clerks, An Inconvenient Truth, Little Miss Sunshine, Blue Valentine, Pariah, and Take Shelter, among others. Perhaps this year’s festival darling will be For Ellen, Keep the Lights On, Nobody Walks or Sundowing?

Kodak’s commitment to Sundance and Slamdance is longstanding. In addition to the legendary annual Kodak Filmmaker Party at Sundance, this year will feature a Kodak-sponsored conversation with filmmakers on the advantages to shooting Super 16. Over at Slamdance, Kodak will host a discussion with filmmakers sharing their firsthand experience with the versatility and affordability offered by film.

We want the independent filmmaking community to know that they don’t have to make compromises to realize their vision. Nothing compares to film’s latitude, flexibility and resolution, and our newest film stocks offer great options for projects at all budget levels.

While indie filmmakers continue to find ways to express their art creatively and at the same time balance the economics, Kodak products and services remain a constant. The next generation of filmmakers may have new stories to tell, but they share the same goal as their predecessors; to have the best visual tools possible. Kodak is here to help them realize those dreams.
